It's time to get wet! Get your pool up and running and set the tone for care and maintenance for the whole season. Practice good preventive pool care and save yourself time and money in the long run.
Make sure that all equipment is clean and in good working order: Check the pump, skimmer basket and filter.
Fill the pool to the middle of the skimmer opening with water from your outdoor tap before turning on the pump system.
Start the circulation system and remove any large loose debris from the pool.
Take a water sample in a clean glass or plastic container to your swimming pool dealership or service center for testing and analysis. The center should have the proper equipment - or access to a lab - to provide detailed information on what chemical treatment your pool needs to stabilize the water.
Follow the pool center's instructions, based on your tests, for stabilizing your pool's water.
